The Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp is the result of the extraordinary restoration of a historic monastery dating back to the 13th century. The rooms and suites, spread across five buildings, have preserved their original character while ensuring that they meet contemporary standards. The gardens were partly redrawn and redesigned and are essential to the Botanic Sanctuary experience and even provide fresh ingredients for the hotel’s five fine-dining restaurants and their world- renowned chefs with a total of 4 Michelin stars. The Hertog Jan received two stars just seven months after opening where Gert de Mangeleer and Joachim Boudens take guests on a near mystical culinary journey. Housed in a fairy tale “gingerbread” house on the edge of the Botanic Sanctuary the Het Gebaar, Michelin-starred restaurant, is famous for innovative desserts with modern twists. The Michelin-starred Fine Fleur restaurant has become one of the city’s hotspots for cosmopolitan, gourmet cuisine. The Botanic Health Spa, a new building located at the heart of the monastery site, combines an understanding of ancient herbal and monastic remedies with traditional European and Chinese medicine. Best Celebrations: From engagements to weddings and beyond… The wedding spaces at the hotel offer superb backdrops and the Monastery Garden is a perfect place for the all-important wedding photographs.
