Imaret is a luxury hotel located within a historical monument built in 1817 in the middle of the historical district of Kavala overlooking the port. Once a Koranic school the building is a rare example in Europe and a masterpiece of late Ottoman architecture. All the rooms and suites lie beneath the graceful domes of the original construction in the inner gardens and under the marble arcades. Each detail in the decoration is a tribute to absolute luxury; lavish materials, rich velvet and silk, handmade oriental carpets covering waxed chestnut floors. The hotel features an original Hamman, an indoor hidden cistern pool (temp 22°C) and a massage area offering a fully range of East meets West therapies. Relax by the beautiful, outdoor cistern pool. Best Gastronomy: Underneath the spectacular, glass Green House savor the dish of the day from traditional recipes with matching side dishes. The dining room in the colder months moves into the warmth of the fireplace room. Greek cuisine is served using a selection of fresh, seasonal vegetables and fruits from the local market and seafood from Kavala’s famous fish market. Meat comes from a small producer in the Rodopi Mountains. A private dinner can be served in an intimate spot in the inner courtyards.
