Villa La Massa is an architectural gem of the 14th century, majestically set on the banks of the Arno River, at the gateway to the Chianti region and only a few minutes from the center of Florence. Formerly the country house of a Florentine aristocratic family of the Medici era, Villa La Massa was transformed in 1948 into a luxury hotel, returning its five buildings to their former splendor: Villa Nobile, the Mulino, the Villino, the Casa Colonica and Limonaia. The spirit of the Renaissance is still palpable in the first villas decorated with sublime canopy beds, frescoes and tapestries, silks and brocades, while the other three are beautifully furnished in a more contemporary Florentine style.
