La Fonda Heritage Hotel opened its doors on the 1st April 2023 as the first Relais & Châteaux property in Andalusia. Located on the picturesque Plaza del Santo Cristo in the heart of Marbella’s Old Town, the hotel is comprised of three meticulously restored historical buildings. During the renovation, archaeological excavations unearthed the altar and nave of the 16th century Church of San Sebastian and also medieval ruins from the 13th century. La Fonda has been restored to its former glory, retaining its original features, ancient walls and murals but with contemporary design, exclusive amenities and 21st century comfort. The rich heritage of the building includes 18th century paintings and the façade dating back to the 19th century. The rooms offer views of the old town and are accessed by covered passageways that look over the courtyards terraces. In the morning take breakfast on the leafy patios and in the evening enjoy champagne and oysters in the stylish sky bar perched above the city. Best Gastronomy: Chef Pascal Silman has reimagined dishes and envisioned avant-garde taste sensations using Andalusian and Mediterranean local produce in the hotel’s signature restaurant Jane. Boasting an impressive open kitchen and three separate dining areas, including the nave of the 16th century church, the restaurant Jane juxtaposes modern design and traditional architecture.
