A new Spa Star is born

What’s new on the western front? Well, all is not quiet! There, the discreet city of Trouville, nicknamed “the little sister”, is gradually overshadowing fashionable Deauville… As a matter of fact, the reopening of the Cures Marines (MGallery Collection) recently created a buzz which undoubtedly had something to do with the Hotel Normandy being closed for renovations but the truth is that many “Rive gauche” regulars (from the Touque) are now moving to stay “Rive droite”, closer to Trouville. Back to the sources? (marine ones)!

The reopening of both the Cure Marines and of the hotel symbolizes a coherent resurrection. Trouville’s ties with the past are deeply anchored into the city’s identity. In 1825, while visiting the Côte Fleurie, painter Charles Mozin describes Trouville as an incredibly charming fishing village with bricked slate roof houses and narrow passages. He decides to settle down here and installs his easel on the long stretch of sandy beach, before soon being followed by other painters. Trouville gradually turns into a fashionable seaside resort, nicknamed the “Queen of the beaches” and witnesses many aristocrats and industrials flocking in, seeking a close retreat from Paris. Trouville seawaters being praised for their therapeutic virtues, “Les Cures Marines” opens in 1912. But times change, history and some risky investors take their toll on the city and the wonderful Belle-Epoque building Les Cures Marine loses its glamor and its customers and finally closes in 1998. Seventeen years later, it’s revenge time for our great pleasure. So, immerse yourself into the past, revisited with great talent by designer Jean-Philippe Nuel. Let yourself be lulled, spoilt, carried away by outstanding seawater treatments. Experience “la Belle Epoque” with no stress and unwind!
