A walking tour around the old town and the promenade des anglais: Welcome to Nice, the famous seaside resort basking in sunshine!

Off we go for a week-end of strolling, showing off, sightseeing, sunbathing and shopping…what a “Nice”getaway!

Wander around, from Masséna to the Promenade du Paillon, and don’t miss a visit to the Old Town and its churches. From the harbor to the hills of Cimiez, you always end up facing the big blue sea. Nice is a magical city, blending sea and lights! The Cours Saleya is a must-see, buzzing both day and night. You will love the famous flower market and jumble sales. Take a seat, have a drink, have lunch or dinner and let your eyes guide you into this absolute open-air museum, where locals, tourists, foreigners, shopkeepers and buyers meet and mingle. Then head to the numerous town parks: Nice is a huge open-air garden looking onto the sea, where tropical species blend with natural essences  After a fine dinner, enjoy a night stroll along the Baie des Anges and its 7- km long Promenade with its hotels, private homes, beaches and let yourself be lulled by the sound of the waves, Nice is truly romantic! With 2016 ahead, the French Riviera’s main town has many surprises in store, regardless of the season!

MY FAVOURITE ADDRESSES IN NICE

On the Cours Saleya, stop at “La Civette”: sit down and relax…Have lunch at “Le Safari”, a very good restaurant, simply tasty! Located rue Saint-Francois de Paul, don’t miss “La Petite Maison”, the restaurant where you have to be seen. Enjoy the best pizza in Nice at “Le Bar du Coin”, located the corner of rue Droite in the Old Town. The manager is a very charming person and prices are very affordable. Why not top the night with an ice cream at Fenocchio, on the Place Rossetti. The Grand Hotel Astom: a splendid terrace on the 7th floor and a wonderful view overlooking the Parc du Chateau, the Opera House facing the blue Mediterranean sea to sip a drink between town and sea! Not to forget the Hotel Suisse where you have breathtaking views from the 4th and 5th floor terraces! The rue de Longchamp and rue Alphonse Karr are ideal for chic shopping. The harbor district in Nice is very trendy, especially around the rues Bonaparte and Emmanuel Philibert. Stop at Lucien, Place Garibaldi, a shoemaker we just love! And then, head to Castel Plage facing the big blue Mediterranean Sea and relax… Nice and its museums: The Matisse and Marc Chagall museums in Cimiez… Mamac is the contemporary museum of modern art and last but not least the Theâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image… On the hills of the town, don’t miss the Castle Park, accessed from the rue des Ponchettes. An iconic place. It is here that the Phocaean Greeks formerly settled and founded the city, several thousand years ago. One of the best lookouts in Nice!
